The Nest aims to provide users with an urban getaway. Compiled primarily of wood, the structure juxtaposes the "concrete jungle" it is placed among. The Nest was designed with accessibility in mind: each turn provides enough space for a wheelchair to get around and ensures an equal experience for all users. Acting as a retreat, the user is able to enter a unique form, turn a corner, and feel as if he or she has escaped the urban surroundings. The Nest utilises an oculus to guide the user's eyes upward toward the canopy of trees hovering above. A bench is angled directly at the oculus to help promote a tranquil environment.
The structure was designed over the course of eight hours, and constructed over 1.5 days.
